GC storm day 2

Another crazy night of storms on the Gold Coast. I was lucky enough to be at work right on the beach last night and made the most of my half hour break to snap a few shots. Just drove a mission sth of the border for some waves and ended up empty and dry, tomorrow looking the goods?

A great night for the lens with plenty of action in the sky, can still here the storm right now with another little cell about to pass over the house. didn't know we were expecting a storm so i dashed down to the water to watch it all unfold.

Crazy looking clouds gathered over the Goldy today and just as it looked like hail would be raining down the whole cell pushed towards the mountains leaving just a couple of measly drops of behind.

Talk about sharing the STOKE! Tyler and i after getting his new 5'11 Simmo board signed from the guy at least three times his size....Matty Neilsen. I don't think any barrel would put a smile on Tyler's face like the one he had as he was told the board in his arms was his. Thanks heaps Matty,what a legend!!!

Goods ideas and some waves to go with them, now that's what I'm talking about keep the ball rolling!!! Tomorrow hopefully shaping up to be another good one with some ideal conditions at TOS. keeping the stoke alive with some shots from the final day our Sydney trip, checkin the swell daily for the one we missed. Getting pretty keen on a Indo trip if anyone is on the same mission. Make sure not to go to far.

PUMPING STRADDIE 11TH MAY 2011

Empty Perfection, Picture yourself hands to the roof on this one lads!

 A day to remember, Besides gaining a new flat, Scoring near perfect 4-6ft Straddie it was my beautiful daughter Mia's 9th Birthday. After hitting the seafood buffet the night before to celebrate there was alot of tension to release in morning. As we turned around the north wall of the seaway I'm pretty sure that's what happened as i was greeted with perfect offshore Pumping waves. Every set was picture perfect with 4 wave barrel sets keeping the crew vocal all the way up the beach. Plenty of pro's in the water however there was some insane local boys going nuts so if you find yourself or a mate below hit me up!!! Cant believe we missed the Sydney swell by one day. gonna keep a close eye on the swells and be straight back down there.

Back on the goldy and need sleep!!! Sydney was unreal, thanks Matty awesome time Jonz haha, pretty keen to order some more Peter Garrett with extra punch at that Thai place LOL. Not many shots to claim for the trip but plenty of insane waves ticked off the list. Cape solander, suck rock, Voodoo's, Bronte and the fabulous Bondi Beach. Met some sick new crew down there who are living the dream, Bondi barrels lads!!! Cheers Harry, bloody champ mate! Lovin the shot attached of ours with only a couple of crew enjoying a nice pulse in the swell. So keen to go back when the swells huge, get ready Matty. Gonna post some more shots in the coming days and get the site up to date but check the small gallery below aswell. Plenty of local unknowns charging their home ground, be insane for someone to claim this little bombie......YEEEEEWWWW!!!! So wheres next? hmmmmm somewhere abroad, lets wait and see.

Day 2 in Sydney and its already the night before we leave, that's cool I'm sick of the insane drivers on Sydney roads anyway......READ the signs people, NO RIGHT TURN!!! not to mention the 6.5 million dollar per hour parking fees. Staying in the most insane room at Sheraton on the park right on Hyde park, 20th floor penthouse style not to mention all the hook ups we have got along the way. Super early freezing cold surf at Bondi today with Matty coming out of a rare Bondi Barrel with all the local homeless bums hooting him for another. Picked up Harry and headed down south to Suck rock and Voodoo's, a new place for all of us...stoked!!! So much potential at this place, for sure somewhere we will be returning too soon. Just before we left i snapped a nice little barrel of some unknown rider at Suck rock as per shot below.

 Also snapped a clean shot of Mickey getting shacked at Bondi, looks like Disney are onto the go pro's too lol. forecast is the same story tomorrow with a bit less swell but still offshore winds so should be fun somewhere.
